Holiday Cactus: A relaxing, plant-friendly gardening game.

(Note: Mobile support is experimental.)

Controls

  • Arrows / WASD - Move and control menus
  • Mouse - Select from menus
  • Enter / Space / Left Click- Confirm menu option, and interact with things
  • Backspace / Right Click - Cancel option, close menu, or open inventory menu

How to play:

  1. Don't worry - this is a chill game, you and your plants will be okay, and the game auto-saves whenever it fades to black.
  2. Scavenge and fetch water to get resources (examine the arrow sign).
  3. Empathize with your plants to learn what they need.
  4. Water them and put up shades if they get too much sun. Keep the sun and water gauges around the mid-point.
  5. If they're healthy and fully grown, they may drop ethically sourced fruits.
  6. Rehome the seeds from the fruits. If you rehome enough, new plants might show up.

oh. oh I *love* this.

11/10 I think I'm gonna end up playing a lot of this :)

is there anyway to support you, btw? like a tip jar or anything?

I really appreciate the sentiment - I’m touched! But I’m quite comfortable. If you spend that money on another small dev that needs it more, I’ll be happy ^^

The best thing you could do to support me directly is just share the game on to someone else you think would like it. Really glad you loved it 😭😭😭

Fair enough! Will do :)

I’m so glad! That’s great to hear 😭 I had so much fun making it, and it means a lot to me. I hope you feel just a little closer to the plants in your life now 🙏 treasure those little green friends.
